My name is Greg Cartmell and I'm a professional artist. Original, authentic and colorful landscape paintings are what you can expect to find at gregcartmell.com and you'll find much more that that on the site. If you really enjoy American Impressionism, then I guarantee you'll find more eye-pleasing artwork than you've ever seen before. I never used to update the site with my latest paintings. Then I learned that almost every impressionist spends more time sharing their art on their blog than they do creating any oil paintings. I immediately knew that it was important for me to share as many pieces of art that I've created.

That's just scratching the service. To share a little bit more about myself, I'd like to call myself a Mississippi artist or even a Southern artist. However, I was born and raised in the New England area. I've since relocated to the deep south where I paint in a Plein air style on location for the most part.

If someone asks what type of painting or scenery I specialize in, I typically tell them that I'm known for my sunset paintings. That's just the niche that I've done well over the last 63 years. It hasn't been that bad of a time paitning during sunsets throughout the United States either.

With southern art and American impressionism more popular than ever, I've found myself consumed with both creating original landscape paintings and teaching my art workshops.
