Chris Okibi

Chris Okibi is an innovative and unconventional DJ, producer, and live performance artist. With an early beginning in jungle and drum & bass and mentoring from some of the west coast's finest, Okibi has firmly established himself in the growing bass music scene, playing alongside artists like 12th Planet, Noah D, Alix Perez, Capital J, RCola, and ill.Gates. He brings a diverse selection of styles to every set, from rolling liquid riddims, to dubwise exclusives, grimy dubstep, and forward-thinking funky and juke. Okibi utilizes everything from vinyl to MIDI controllers in the mix. In late 2006, he founded Union Sound System, a steadily growing network of avant-garde artists. Involved in a number of eclectic projects, from the VNLA nominated Dreadsteppas DJ crew, to the electro-punk stylings of AUTOMATON, Okibi stays true to his old school roots while pioneering future vibes.
