Okitha Thennakoon is an inventor and researcher living in Kandy, Sri Lanka. He is a science writer. His research was also recognized by NASA in 2021. He is a Recommended Inventor by the Sri Lanka Innovation Agency (NIA Sri Lanka) since 2024.

He is currently the President of the Randles Inventor's Society of Kingswood College (RISKC) and a Project Manager at the Kingswood Research Institute (KRU). And also he is serving as the chairman of Central province School inventors club associatio (CPSICA).
