Olen Wey
John is a family and community person. He enjoys finding ways to become a better person and serve others in the community. In 2013, the Mayor of Alabaster recognized his community efforts and presented him with a coin to the city. During his outreach, he found a common problem in how schools, day care facilities, banks, police departments, and community members react to incidents. He found the problem was present while doing a safety assessment at the daycare where his son, John Lewis, was attending and felt it was a moral obligation to develop a solution. He gathered the help from his wife, Alison, a 6th grade English teacher at Helena Middle School, his family, and friends to develop Community Response Systems. His goal and passion is to have the Community Response Systems solution in every daycare, school, and police department. He can be contacted via email at [email protected].
