Olivier Mertens

I’m a passionate, enthusiastic and creative entrepreneur who started building companies just after I graduated with a Master degree in Business and Finance from the ICHEC Business School in Brussels, Belgium.

In 2001, I founded my first company, APIX, a start-up specialized in Rich Internet Application development. Four years later, I set up my second company TAATU - taatu.com - a browser-based virtual world for teenagers.

Those rich experiences gave me a strong expertise in the Internet business and more precisely in social entertainment:

- Passion for creating rich addictive user experiences with a strong focus on the Revenue and Viral Gameplay Mechanics.

- Passion for building communities and monetize them.

- Strong expertise in cross-media entertainment by integrating Big Media Partners in a Virtual World, such as TV shows or TV soaps.

- Strong technical understanding of internet technologies with an ability to transform these into compelling business terms.

- Stay open-minded by integrating within my business vision everything I read, hear and see, with a particular focus on the users’ feedback.

I particularly enjoy collaborating with talented artists with the common goal to build the next generation of online social entertainment.
