Oliver Nash

Oliver is Head of Engagement for the British Government’s Digital Economy Unit. His team exists to help make the UK the world’s most advanced digital economy.
He leads on engagement with the technology and creative industries and works closely with No.10 and the Department for International Trade to support investment in the UK. He joined from the Cabinet Office, where he worked as a policy advisor covering social impact investment and early-stage ventures.
Prior to joining public service, Oliver worked at Google for five years in both London and Dublin. During this time he set up a fintech venture in 2013 and volunteered as a mentor at Campus London. He has a long-standing interest in social innovation and has worked as a researcher at the Young Foundation and in microfinance at the Grameen Bank in Bangladesh.
Oliver has a Masters in Human Sciences from St Hugh’s College, Oxford University and is currently a researcher in urban innovation at University College London. Outside of work he enjoys cycling and kitesurfing and is a science tutor for the Access Project.
