Growing up, I didn't know much beyond the small town outside of Boston I grew up in. That is why my parents decided to take a leap and move overseas to Vienna, Austria. I had just graduated elementary school, so I was going with the flow. I didn't know the adventures that lie ahead of me the next five years. I fully immersed myself into a culture I knew nothing about at the time, but now miss.
One element to living overseas was the ability to travel all across Europe. I traveled to other countries for sports tournaments and even for quick weekends. One memorable trip was to Paris, France with my mom. This is where my picture was taken. My mom and I just baked macarons for the first time and were on our way to go shopping. I have been able to learn about other cultures and explore different cities.
I will be forever grateful for the experience of living overseas. It is one thing to go on vacation, but living there is a whole different challenge. I have met so many different friends from other countries going to an international school. I hope to go back soon and visit one of the places I call home. I will talk for hours about the best places to eat and see. I am probably biased, but I think Vienna is the best city to visit.
