Olivia Barnes
My name is Olivia Barnes and I live in Adelaide, South Australia. I have a Bachelor of Medical Science degree with honours, specialising in Neuroscience and Physiology, from Flinders University. I have spent the last two years working in a research laboratory at Flinders Medical Centre and during this time I have been working on projects involving the causes of Parkinson's disease at a cellular level. Durning my time at the University, I have also been involved in student learning, specifically marking assignments, teaching research methods to honours students and writting lectures. These experiences brought me to realise that, while I love Science, I also have a passion and thourough enjoyment for teaching, so in 2012 I decided to combine the two and become a Science teacher. Having recently completed an 18 week professional placement at Westminster School, teaching SACE Satge 1 Biology and Year 8 and 10 Science, I am extremely excited about my upcoming career in the rewarding world that is Science teaching.
