Olivia Barron

Hello! My name is Olivia Barron and I am currently from Alpharetta, Ga. I grew up in Roswell, Ga and have stayed in Georgia ever since.

I started college at Georgia Southern University and later transferred to the University of Georgia in Athens. I am finishing up my last year studying fashion merchandising.

Following graduation I am moving to Atlanta and starting an internship working for Amy J. Hill Showroom at the Mart. I am very excited to begin my journey in the fashion world.

My other personal interests include traveling, shopping and running. In the next few months I will be traveling to Italy for the first time. I try to run as much as I can, I find it is my favorite way of relieving stress!

Final Blog:

This semester has taught me a lot about business communication. I think the most specific thing I have learned the most about is presenting.

Presenting has never been one of my favorite activities. I have always struggled talking in front of large groups. This class has pushed me to strengthen my presenting skills. I think the best thing I learned is to really be knowledgeable about what you are talking about. it is a lot easier to present about something when you actually understand what you are talking about.

My favorite activity and most beneficial one we did was putting together our cover letters and resumes step by step to really make sure they are perfect. As I am entering the real world in a few short weeks I really found this helpful moving forward on my job hunt.

Overall, this class was very helpful when it came to really applying knowledge to things we may need to know in the future.
