Cardiff born Mezzo-Soprano Olivia Gomez is a student at the Wales International Academy of Voice under the tutorage of Dennis O’Neill.

Performance highlights include Elgar’s Sea Pictures with Watford Philharmonic Orchestra, Mendelssohn’s Elijah at St John’s Smith Square for the Three Choirs Festival as well as Verdi’s Requiem, Bach’s St John Passion and Rossini Petite Messe Solennelle. In 2018, Olivia was a soloist for the Family Prom at the Welsh Proms in St David’s Hall, Cardiff with the Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra. This summer Olivia is excited to be the soloist for Karl Jenkins’ 75th Birthday Concert during the Gower Festival.

Operatic experiences have included the roles of Olga in Eugene Onegin, Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, Narrator in the first staged production of Dirty Beasts by Brian Irvine, Miss Prism in The Importance of being Earnest by Gerald Barry for Contemporary Opera Scenes with Music Theatre Wales, the title role in scenes of Dove’s Pinocchio and Nancy in Albert Herring. Most recently, Olivia was in the chorus for the Abu Dhabi International Musical Festivals production of Tosca. Olivia also recorded the role of Loyse in Arthus Sullivan’s opera The Beauty Stone with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales for Chandos Records.

Olivia is currently a soloist on the Live Music Now Scheme and also runs educational outreach workshops for the BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales and Arts Active.
