Olivia Jane Gomez
Classical Mezzo-Soprano and Musician in Cardiff, United Kingdom
Cardiff born Mezzo-Soprano, Olivia Gomez, is a graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and studies under Beatrice Unsworth and Michael Pollock.
Recent performance highlights include Elgar’s Sea Picture with Watford Philharmonic Orchestra, Mendelssohn’s Elijah at St John’s Smith Square for the Three Choirs Festival and the opening concert of the Welsh Proms with the Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra. She was also a finalist in the Courtney Kenny Award ran by Association of English Singers and Speakers.
Operatic experiences have included the roles of Narrator in the first staged production of Dirty Beasts by Brian Irvine, Miss Prism in The Importance of being Earnest by Gerald Barry for Contemporary Opera Scenes with Music Theatre Wales and Nancy in the RWCMD production of Albert Herring (Britten). Olivia also recorded the role of Loyse in Arthus Sullivan’s opera The Beauty Stonewith the BBC National Orchestra of Wales for Chandos Records.
Olivia is currently aScholar with the BBC National Chorus of Wales and a soloist on the Live MusicNow Scheme. She also runs educationaloutreach workshops for the BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales and ArtsActive.
