Olivia Neyra
Student and Photographer in Calgary, Alberta, Canada
I am a student currently living in Canada. My interests range from photography to travel, I am also interested in snowboarding, animals, arts, and of course being an equestrian.
I was born in Ecuador and I lived there for the first five years of my life, until my family decided to move back to Calgary. I have three brothers, two are older and one is younger . I had lived in Calgary for eight years before my family decided it was time for a change and moved to Houston Texas. We lived in Texas for two years before moving back to Calgary.
Throughout my lifetime I have had to overcome many tiny obstacles, but I have also gone through a couple of major ones. The hardest part of my life so far has been all the goodbye's I have had to say. Saying goodbye to my friends in Calgary when I moved to Texas, and saying goodbye to my friends in Texas a short two years later.
The hardest thing I have ever had to go through, was saying goodbye to my horse when I left Texas. I find myself lucky that this is the hardest thing I have gone through. I find myself lucky that I had something so precious and close to me that made saying goodbye so hard.
I have learned that you never say goodbye to anything or anyone, for me it is always just a see you later.
Some current goals of mine right now include: completing a close to perfect course with my horse, becoming a more optimistic person, and to share my photography with more people.
Some future plans pf mine include going to university hopefully UBC or U of VIC. I do not know what I want to do yet, but I do know that eventually I would like to rescue abused horses and get them back to being the healthy and happy animals they are.
One of the biggest accomplishments in my life so far was winning a horse show. The reason this is so significant to me, was because on my first show I got thrown off my horse in the middle of a class and got injured. After that happened I was determined to make my second show better, my goal was to stay on the horse, and I ended up winning everything. The reason why that has been the most significant day of my life is not because I won everything, but because I realized all my hard work had paid off. It taught me to never give up.
