Hi there! My name is Olivia Tomeny. I am currently a member of the Redcoat marching band. I have a long history with band in general, going back to elementary school. I grew up with two older brothers, one 3 years older while the oldest is 7 years older than me. Both of my brothers started participating in band when they were in 7th grade and continued in high school.

As my brothers continued to participate in band throughout middle school and high school, I witnessed them meet some of their closest friends to this day. I also witnessed them go on to have many enjoyable experiences in band such as playing at football games and going on trips.

As I witnessed the experiences my brothers had in band, it really encouraged me to join in middle school and high school. I have been in band since I was in 6th grade. Since then, I have made countless memories and friendships. My senior year I had the pleasure of being the section leader for the trumpet section at my high school. However, my last marching season was exhausting and I intended to no longer participate in marching band in college.

As my senior year ended, my window to audition for the Redcoats began. I was originally set on not auditioning; however, I decided it was better to audition and determine after the results came out whether I wanted to participate. I spent a month preparing and I finally submitted an audition. Long story short, I am extremely fortunate to have received the news that I have the opportunity to participate in the Redcoat band. I decided to accept this opportunity and I look forward to the many memories I will make!
