Ollie Wells

I’m an experienced creative leader based in Cardiff, working as the head of User Experience and Interaction Design at Sequence, one of the UK’s biggest and best digital agencies.

My role is to maintain and manage the quality of the output from the interactive design & creative teams of this multi-million pound turnover digital agency. At a strategic level, I help work out the direction for the creative arm of the agency.

A motivator and a leader, I work with my teams to solve design and interaction problems. I'm responsible for hiring the best talent for my teams to make sure we continue to deliver.

I've worked at some brilliant places, such as Lightmaker in Vancouver, BBC in Cardiff, and at the BAFTA winning Complete Control just outside Bath.

At the moment, what really motivates me is the challenge of making sure everything we do and make is the best quality it can be.

Quality doesn't have to mean complex, or expensive, but it does have to mean care, attention to detail, and an overall want to make something that is as good as you can make it within reasonable constraints.

I enjoy speaking at events, and would love to do more on that side of things.

I've established myself at Sequence as a key member of the leadership team, and continue to guide the creative arm of the agency. I help develop and present strategic visions to board members, pitch ideas to prospective clients, and make sure the agency is aware of and using the latest advances in web standards and technologies.
