Olufemi Adesope

Dr Olufemi Martins Adesope, is an Associate Professor of Agricultural Extension and formerly Head, Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension and currently Associate Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. He has vast practical experience in sustainable livelihood development and has been involved in participatory research in agricultural and rural development for about 20 years. His areas of interests include rural development, community participation in technology development, strategic planning, farmer field schools, agricultural education, socio-economic impact assessment, research methods, Information and Communication Technologies in Agriculture. He has practical experience with community youth and women organizations in community based organizations (CBOs) and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) where he has been involved in enterprise development for the youths and women. Dr Adesope has competence in the use of Statistical Packages for the Social Sciences (SPSS), STATA, E-Views and Microsoft Excel for statistical data analysis. He has been a consultant to individuals and groups on issues related to sustainable development and has established farms for individuals and groups and facilitated various development trainings and workshops. He is the University of Port Harcourt Platform Administrator of Research Professional Africa (a research database organization in Capetown, South Africa). He was Visiting Scholar at the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture from November 2012 to October 2013. Dr Adesope is also a literary artist.
