Olufemi Olalekan Somotun Ph.D

Olufemi Olalekan Somotun is a Nigerian professional with a solid academic and leadership background in public relations, policy analysis, and governance. He has a PhD in Policy Analysis from the University of Abuja, where he is furthering his research and expertise in governance and policy formulation. He also holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Diplomacy and Global Politics from the University of Westminster, alongside a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Political Economy and Development Studies and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Political Science, both from the University of Abuja. Additionally, he has a National Diploma in Mass Communication from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta.

Professionally, Olufemi is the co-founder of the Centre for Environmental Sustainability and Development Awareness (CESDA), based in Abuja, Nigeria. In this role, he is actively involved in promoting sustainable development practices, environmental advocacy, and community-based initiatives that aim to address climate change and foster ecological responsibility.

He also serves as a Director at Rerani Ltd, an international African clothing brand with a presence in both Nigeria and the United Kingdom. Rerani Ltd specializes in showcasing contemporary African fashion, blending traditional designs with modern styles to celebrate African heritage while appealing to a global market. As Director, Olufemi plays a key role in strategic planning, brand development, and international market expansion. He is an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations. He has contributed to academic research, focusing on biotechnology, environmental issues, poverty alleviation, and youth participation in politics.

Olufemi is also an active advocate for good governance, human rights, eradicating youth homelessness, and public sector reforms, participating in various campaigns and organisations promoting these causes in Nigeria and the UK.
