I’m Shukria. And no it’s not ‘Shukri’. I am a blog writer, teacher, student, sister, daughter, counselor, and seeker. I believe in big dreams. Challenging the old ways. Radical perspectives, and the power of kindness and gratitude. I also believe in self-love, and self-responsibility.

I believe in smart and deep conversations. I love the joy of Somali storytelling and the depth of Somali poetry. I sizzle and spark to change my community. But more than that, I hope to be part of the Somali diaspora who went back to our lachrymose motherland, which is calling our name. Calling to reunite Somalia. Calling for a change and renovation!
