Back my campaign

I’m omari wright. My campaign is about how loot boxes and micro-transactions in video games are bad for both kids and adults who play video games and are considered gambling. Loot boxes to me are a form of gambling as you pay real money in order to get a random item (which could be rare or trash) and micro-transactions are in app purchases in video games. Loot boxes are types of in game rewards that can either be bought with in game currency( which in most cases are earned slowly) or with real world money. The site I used for my campaign is eurogamer.net. The site used as been around for quite a long time and has been an excellent source of information. This site goes over the question are loot boxes gambling? The site believes that they are a form of gambling and gives reasons why. The site also gives the view of the entertainment rating software board (ESRB which are the people who decide which games get what rating) on loot boxes and how they don't believe loot boxes are gambling. A small fact regarding micro-transactions a 19-year old who goes by the name of kensgold( did not want to give real name) admitted to spending over $17,000 on micro-transactions. Another fact is electronic arts (or EA for short) makes $1.3 billion off a year off of micro-transactions. This same company was the one who really kicked off the start of the back lash of loot boxes and micro-transactions in video games. Last year EA had realised a game called star wars battlefront 2 which was loaded with micro-transactions and loot boxes. The game had made it painful clear that the more money you spent on the game the greater advantage you would have. This type of game is called pay-to-win which means the more money you spend, the loot boxes you buy means you would have a far greater advantage over someone who didn't spend any money. What I want from my audience, what I want from you is to spread the word about loot boxes and micro-transactions about how they are gambling and to not buy them. This is the only real way companies will understand vote with your wallet. Words will only get us so far but if we stop buying their products they will understand that we as consumers will not stand for them anymore. The YouTube link is a for a video by Jim Sterling who basically says loot boxes are a scam. The Reddit post someones personal experience with loot box addiction. The twitter account is for Jim Sterling who is someone against loot boxes. #lootboxes #gamersunite #microtransactions
