Omar Messado
Procurement Executive in New York, NY, USA
I am a procurement executive with extensive experience in strategic sourcing, contract management, transportation infrastructure, and organizational leadership. Born in Jamaica and raised in New York after immigrating to the United States at the age of ten, I learned early on the value of hard work, integrity, and perseverance. Those principles have guided me throughout my personal and professional journey.
Over the course of my career, I have held leadership roles with organizations including Turner Construction Company, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), and Metro-North Railroad. I have led complex procurement initiatives, negotiated major contracts, supported large-scale infrastructure and transportation projects, and worked closely with teams to achieve operational goals. My approach is centered on fairness, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
I believe that leadership is not measured by titles but by the positive impact we have on others. One of the most rewarding aspects of my career has been mentoring and supporting colleagues as they grow and succeed. My personal philosophy, inspired by a longtime mentor, is simple: "Say what you mean and mean what you say."
Outside of work, I enjoy cycling, swimming, community service, and volunteering with organizations that support those in need.
