A few years ago, you could find me drinking mojitos in the sunshine, at the bar, the life of the party, seven days a week. As fun as it was most of the time, that lifestyle is not sustainable. Soon, my life got swept up into the chaos that I created and I was so disconnected from my own self. I was so disconnected, I didn't even know I was disconnected.

When the path of my life became an out of control tornado destroying everything in it's path, I collapsed in a nervous breakdown in 2011, which led me to be hospitalized for five days. I knew things had to change. It was there, I was able to sober up, get help, and each morning began with an hour of yoga. It was then, that I was able to breathe for seemingly the first time.

After leaving the hospital, I continued practicing yoga, and it has COMPLETELY transformed my life from the inside out. It has been an evolving journey, and up to this moment I have connected to my higher power, inner knowing, and intuition, I've lost 30lbs, cleaned up my diet and became a vegetarian in January 2013. I no longer crave drugs and alcohol because it doesn't feel good inside my body. Even gave up coffee last month, which was my favorite morning ritual. Now I drink green juice, smoothies, and yerba mate.

My passion is yoga and I want to share it with the world, to help others in the way it has helped me. I'm currently taking a 200-hr power yoga teacher training in Torrington, CT. I plan on using my training to bring yoga to people who need it most. I am inspired by Seane Corn and her organization "Off The Mat Into The World" and would also love to train as a Y12SR (yoga for twelve-step recovery).

Namaste.
