I am available for freelance writing and editing projects. Please scroll below for more information on my background.
I have produced magazine issues covering Hurricane Katrina on the ground to a full range of U.S. and international economic and sociopolitical issues, as well as family issues, including marriage, domestic violence, adoption, and how the digital culture has brought humor to faith.
As a seasoned journalist, I resurrected a nonprofit organization's magazine into an award-winning publication. Leading this charge, I revamped the publication into a nationally-distributed magazine. Today, with its winning content and design, the magazine has a roster of loyal advertisers, some advertising with the publication for as long as 18 years. My alma mater, Syracuse, recognized this success story by featuring me on the cover of the university's magazine.
Writing is in my bloodline. Coming from a lineage of arts, my family tree is filled with journalists, writers, painters and architects. With this passion for writing, I have managed freelance writing and editing projects on a wide range of topics, and have also reviewed and edited three doctoral theses and several academic papers.
In my free time, I am also a poet. My personal writing is influenced by my many off-the-beaten-path experiences from volunteering with maximum-security prison inmates, living and working overseas, meeting and interviewing scholars, authors, politicians, researchers, entrepreneurs and athletes.
