Why I Created Shikshanest — And How It’s Helping Tutors and Students Across India

As someone who has always believed in the power of education, I saw a growing problem in India that I couldn’t ignore. Thousands of talented tutors were struggling to find students, and countless students were unable to find the right teachers near them. There were platforms out there, yes—but most of them were either too expensive, too complicated, or simply didn’t care about the people using them.

That’s when I decided to build Shikshanest—a platform designed to bridge the gap between tutors and students in a simple, honest, and effective way.

A Fair System for Tutors

I’ve spoken to so many teachers who are passionate about what they do but were frustrated with other tutoring websites. Some platforms made them buy coins to talk to students. Others took huge commissions, eating into their hard-earned income. For someone just starting out or trying to make a living from tutoring, this model is discouraging and unfair.
