Oren Penso

Oren Penso is a Senior Member of Technical Staff specializing in Cloud-Native Applications at VMware Tanzu, where he currently serves as Director of Product Strategy. In this role, he leads strategic initiatives, including the development of a new AI strategy to facilitate the creation of AI components by developers.

Previously, as Field CISO, Oren developed Go-to-Market strategies that enhanced VMware’s market presence. As Senior Product Line Manager, he led a team to deliver advanced runtime security features. Additionally, as Technical Lead for Emerging Solutions, he helped establish VMware Tanzu’s prominence in the cloud-native domain, founded the VMware Kubernetes community, and spearheaded numerous strategic initiatives.

Oren has over 20 years of experience in infrastructure technologies, having held senior positions at system integrators and in the financial industry.

• System Integrator Roles: Diverse roles in engineering, post-sales, presales, project management, and sales.
• Bank of Jerusalem: IT Technology Unit Manager, overseeing the establishment of a new bank’s IT infrastructure.
• Migdal Insurance: Head of IT Infrastructure & CTO, managing six teams responsible for infrastructure and database management.

Academic Involvement:

• Lecturer on the technological aspects of the CISO course at a college for information security.
