Optical Express
Since it was established in 1991, The Optical Express Group has expanded to become a global leader of selected healthcare services ranging from optical stores, laser and dental clinics to cosmetic treatment centres and a state-of-the-art medical hospital. The Group currently operates in the UK, Ireland, Croatia, Germany, France and The Netherlands.
As part of The Optical Express Group, Optical Express entered the refractive industry in late 2002 following the acquisition of The Health Clinic Plc. Since then, it has grown to become one of the leading laser eye surgery providers in Europe, both in number of locations and volume of procedures carried out every week. Their surgeons have carried out over 1 million procedures worldwide and evaluate patient feedback at every stage in order to continue to exceed patient expectations.
All of the laser surgeons at Optical Express are fully registered with the General Medical Council and hold the qualification, Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) or the equivalent from another country. Surgeons are also annually assessed by the International Medical Advisory Board which consists of several of the world's leading refractive surgeons. The panel includes Mr Steve Schallhorn, former head of Ophthalmology for the US Navy and adviser to NASA. The annual IMAB conferences continue to improve the surgeon's knowledge of the latest developments in the laser eye surgery field and keep them up to date with industry regulation and best practice.
In addition to Optical Express, The Dental Clinic, The Cosmetic Clinic and Bridgewater Hospital in Manchester are also part of The Optical Express Group offering patient's first class private healthcare. The group has grown exponentially and continues to add to its portfolio, whilst considering the interests of society by taking responsibility for the impact on all aspects of their operation.
