Guy Primus
Guy Primus is Chief Operating Officer at Overbrook Entertainment, a leading entertainment production company whose films have generated over $2.5 billion in worldwide box office receipts and whose partners include James Lassiter, Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith and Ken Stovitz. In addition to heading operations, Guy leads Overbrook's Strategic Ventures Group, an organization dedicated to expanding and optimizing the company’s business portfolio.
Guy serves on the board of directors of Starling TV, a new social TV platform that allows viewers to chat, play and interact with one another while watching television and on the advisory boards of JibJab Media, a leading provider of digital greetings and online entertainment and Interactive One, the leading online platform serving the African American Community through news, information, entertainment and social networking. Guy's success in the world of interactive media led him to being selected as one of Urban Influence Magazine's Men of Influence for 2009. Guy also serves on the Georgia Tech Black Alumni Organization’s Corporate Executive Advisory Board and is a two-time judge of the NAMIC Vision Awards.
Prior to joining Overbrook, Guy was Director of Digital Media at Starbucks Entertainment. In this role, Guy was responsible for setting the strategic direction of Starbucks’ digital entertainment initiatives including negotiation and product planning for Starbucks' groundbreaking deal with iTunes. Guy has also served as Group Product Marketing Manager at Microsoft’s MSN division, where he oversaw marketing and revenue advertising for MSN Entertainment, and as Vice President of Strategy & Planning for Blue Flame, the marketing and advertising arm of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Bad Boy Entertainment.
Guy earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in industrial engineering from Georgia Tech. Guy, his wife, Heather, and their son, Grant, reside in the Miracle Mile area of Los Angeles.
