Opus Energy is an independent company that supplies gas and electricity to the UK commercial sector. Founded in 2002 by Charlie Crossley Cooke, we now serve over 160,000 business sites across the UK.

Customer care and service is at the heart of Opus Energy’s business. Whether you’re one of our larger-multi site corporate customers or a small business, Opus Energy will help keep the lights on, energy bills down, and make powering your business as easy and stress-free as possible. This starts with our customer service team, which is highly trained to deal with any queries our customers may have. Using UK-only call centres, we aim to answer every call within 30 seconds, and to solve most problems in just one call to our team.

Environmental awareness

At Opus Energy we try to get as much of our energy as possible from cleaner, low-carbon and renewable sources where possible, and we have a number of schemes to help reduce the amount of energy our customers use. 72% of our power has come from renewable, low-carbon and cleaner sources in the past three year. Opus Renewables endeavors to increase the amount of renewable energy supplied to our customers. Offering competitive power purchase agreements to individual generators of solar, hydro, wind and anaerobic digestion, whereby customers can sell back the energy they don’t use, thereby saving money whilst increasing the overall amount of renewable energy supplied to Opus Energy customers. All Opus Energy customers can take advantage of our smart meter proposition and switch their standard meter to a smart meter, which not only give precise readings but enables energy usage to be monitored in real time and savings made released.

The majority of our customers are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) who take advantage of our fixed-price energy packages, which provide a reliable and affordable source of power.
