In 2010 I decided to go back to school. I'm learning American Sign Language (ASL) with the goal of being an advocate for the Deaf. I will earn an Associate’s Degree in Deaf Studies in 2013 from Northern Virginia Community College. This degree will compliment my Bachelors of Science (Management/Marketing) from Clemson University earned in 1994 and my ASL Certificate earned in 2013.
I am deliberate in my choices. I enjoy initiating projects, but if given the choice, I prefer working on projects that are already good and take them to great by improving efficiency and effectiveness.
To improve a situation, I sort through potential solutions to find the best solution. I'm always asking the "What happens if…" question (to myself and to others) helping me to anticipate potential outcomes and deconstruct the situation into a simplified explanation.
Once I've made a decision, I take responsibility for it. I want to see it to completion because I'm driven by being helpful and dependable.
I know my strengths and enjoy working with others who know their strengths. We all fit together in the overall picture and I work best when we're all doing our part.
I am a leader.
I am a strategist, researcher and an analyst.
I am a creative thinker and problem solver.
I have trained, traveled, and consulted.
I respect the status quo but I challenge it to make sure it's the best possible process, solution, or resource.
