L'Orastrana
L'Orastrana began its activity in 1993 as a music&poetry lab.
Born from the minds of Carlo Natali and Marco Corsetti, the collective delved since then into the interaction between music and poetry.
In 2006, with a different formation but in the same spirit, the collective decides to go for the big step and constitute itself as an association, which main objective is offering experimental theater shows with a particular look for the improvvisation and interaction between the various artistic disciplines.
Since the beginning, the Orastrana collective always worked on the interaction between music and poetry, inspired in some way by the ancient tradition of the parakataloghé and partially by the modern conception of jam session, in the way we intend it since the beat era, payin' attention to the musical influences by every member of the collective, that range from avantgarde jazz to the traditional/experimental electronica, from the slow & deep dub beats to the most accurated & elaborated ambient music.
All that... in the name of the improvvisation.
During an happening, what matters is the emotive side, the misterious alchimy of the place, the human cases, the crowd.
The happening itself it's a moment of mystical trance, where performers and crowd are bound together by the "charm" of the carpe diem: the musicians, during the whole happening, will not know at all what the poet will read, neither the poet knows what the musicians will do.
The philosophy at the base of the Orastrana's live sessions is that the happening has to be considered an unique event, unrepeatable.
Doesn't have to be something that anyone would expect, a serial event, where the apex of the unexpected it's the different order of the songs in a playlist... where the art dies, swallowed by the routine.
The Orastrana collective isn't just music & poetry.
It keeps an eye even on the visual arts side of the things, expressing feelings through photography projects, collective or personal that they may be.
The collective projects follow the psychedelia vein: visual experimentations on movement, deepenings, abstractions, meditations.
Between them, a regard eye bout' "nightlifes", nocturnal adventures where the Orastrana crew hits the streets or the countryside, equipped with torches, looking for suggestive settings & background, all driven by the silent rhythm of the 'B Pose'.
