Orgil Batzorig
I was born in Gobi-Altai, the western part of Mongolia. I was born when my mom was only 21 years old, and it was difficult for her to support a child at such an age while pursuing her studies and work.
I moved around a lot when I was young, from Gobi Altai, to the capital city, Ulaanbaatar, to the country side, to Sweden, and back to the capital. Usually it had to do with my mom trying to find her solid footing in such a big world. My mother is my inspiration and my hero because she never gave up on me and wanted the best for me. She may not have been the most affectionate and caring person a child could ask for in a parent, but she has taught me so much.
After moving back from Sweden to Mongolia, I studied at Hobby School of Ulaanbaatar, one of the top international schools in Mongolia. After my graduation, I ventured off to the United States to study my Bachelors degree in a small Liberal Arts college called Albion College.
The first few years I was figuring myself out, and made friends with absolutely amazing people. The experiences I've shared and the growth associated with them was wonderful.
I absolutely loved swimming my freshman year. I really thought I wanted to swim in the Olympics for my country, considering the fact that I was 1 or 2 seconds behind my national record. However, life had other plans.
As a senior undergraduate who's close to embarking on the real world and making choices for myself, it's weird to think about living completely on my own. I've made friends and relationships with people wherever I went, but it had always been short lived due to my unsettled nature. I don't regret any of those memories though; I will always treasure those special moments, and it will live in my heart til the day I die.
Those people in my life have made me the person I am today, and allowed me to discover who I really am, my passion, my goals in life, my purpose, and my happiness.
I love staying in shape and keeping a healthy lifestyle that's filled with adventure. I can't live without swimming, and maybe someday I will be able to go to the Olympics. I have not given up on that dream..
I love singing, and sharing my music with other people. Seeing other people enjoy and appreciate art gives me reason to share my gifts with the world.
However, most of all, I love making other people happy. My purpose in life is to be an entrepenuer and provide service to the community.
