My name is Mohammad Mahabubur Rashid, I run an orphanage based in Dhaka called Saleha Begum Yatim-Khana; it is located in Rajapur Jhalkathi. It has over over 100 students. I try my very best to cater for their basic needs such as food, education etc.

The reason as to why I have set this page up is because this orphanage needs your help. Being a Muslim I try to follow the teachings of my beloved prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), he taught that one of the best actions one can do is help orphans by giving to charity.

Some days my students and I run on just one meal a day that consists of lentils and rice. On other days we go without food. Our students and myself have great faith in Islam and we believe that God shall provide for us as He is the best of providers. As a Muslim I believe that God places us in difficult situations in order to test whether our faith is firm. All praise is due to God, I have faith in Him as He will send us help through individuals such as yourself.

You can make that change in an orphan's life, you can go to bed happily knowing that orphans haven't starved for yet another day due to the lack of funding. Any form of help will truly be appreciated. :)

I sincerely pray that Allah (God) ends the suffering of people, of orphans, of widows, of the elderly, of those in countries suffering from war. I also pray that God blesses those who helps our orphanage even if it is in the smallest of ways.

All Abrahamic religions teach that giving to charity is a beautiful gift; it helps those in need. It gives orphans a reason to smile.
