A trilingual human working as a digital journalist, my journey began on Friday, August 17, 2007, when I first spoke into a microphone and gave a weather/traffic update to over 40,000 public radio listeners inside a small radio booth in El Paso, Texas. Since then, I've developed an interest in international reporting, immigration issues, the intersection of technological development and its influence on culture, the advancement of the sciences, as well as LGBT issues and long-form journalism.

I recently completed a master’s degree in Mass Communication at ASU’s Walter Cronkite School, where I reported on government, immigration and transportation issues for Cronkite News Service, a news wire service with over 30 clients across the state of Arizona. I also stepped in as producer and anchor of Cronkite NewsWatch en Español, the Spanish-language sister newscast of the award-winning, student-produced live 30-minute newscast covering Arizona public policy issues.

In 2013, I traveled to the northern U.S. border as part of the Cronkite Borderlands Initiative project The Two Borders to report on migrant family separation and re-integration into foreign communities as they search for better opportunities miles away from home.

Originally from Kansas City, Mo., I grew up in Mexico City and later, the American Southwest. I've traveled throughout Mexico and most of Western Europe and can speak English, Spanish, and French.
