open system interconnection model
This Is just another CCNA exam prep tutorial concerning the Transport Layer of this TCP/IP suite. Knowing the purpose and performance of the Layer (Layer 4 in the OSI model) is essential for understanding how information is transmitted in network environments.

The Transport Layer Resides between Application and Network layers also gets the crucial purpose of supplying communication solutions right to the program processes running on different servers. As information data arrives from an Application Extension into the Transfer Layer, the latter puts a header over the information so as to identify from that program the information was obtained. This Transfer Layer header Includes a Source Port Number along with also a Destination Port Number. The Port Numbers identify the program where the information was obtained or is destined to. Read more about port numbers later in this report.
