Rhinoplasty is an operation that requires a thorough assessment, especially with regard to the patient's wishes and reasons for changing the nose. There are many links between the appearance of the nose and social situations, but it is not always that an operation alone will be able to solve the problem.
However, a nose operation may have a medical indication when it comes to a deviation in the nose itself or in relation to the entire face profile. Where this can be documented and where a significant improvement can be predicted, a nose operation may be relevant.

CONSULTATION
Some have a congenital skewed septum that can lead to breathing problems. This must first and foremost be assessed and treated by, or in collaboration with, an ear-nose-throat specialist.
The external irregularities or abnormalities such as bumps / dents on the bridge of the nose, too large, too wide or too downwardly facing the tip of the nose are well suited for nose surgery by a plastic surgeon. Here it is very important that your wishes are clarified and that these are realistic. Other possible psychological fixations between the appearance of the nose must be clarified and weighed or alternatively processed before a decision is made whether nose surgery may be relevant.
During the consultation, your wishes and needs are thoroughly assessed with regard to the whole. Here we look not only at the nose area, but the entire face profile. Then, based on medical reasons, and of course as much as possible, your wishes are determined, what type of nose surgery should be performed.
In a standard nose operation, the scars go inside the nasal wing on both sides (invisible scars), alternatively with the help of a smaller scar across a so-called columella area, ie the part that connects the upper lip to the tip of the nose.
Occasionally, a cartilage graft or internal nasal prosthesis may be appropriate.
