About Sharif Osman Hadi
Sharif Osman Hadi (born June 30, 1993) was a Bangladeshi activist, writer, teacher, and youth leader from Nalchity Upazila, Jhalokathi District, Bangladesh.
He became widely known during Bangladesh's 2024 student movement and later served as a spokesperson for Inqilab Moncho (Platform for Revolution). Throughout his public life, he was recognized by supporters for speaking openly about justice, accountability, and the future of Bangladesh.
The Attack
On December 12, 2025, Sharif Osman Hadi was seriously injured in a shooting in Dhaka.
He was first treated at hospitals in Bangladesh before doctors decided that he needed advanced medical care.
On December 15, 2025, he was flown by air ambulance to Singapore General Hospital, where a team of specialists continued his treatment.
His Final Battle
Despite several days of intensive treatment and every effort made by his medical team, Sharif Osman Hadi passed away on December 18, 2025, at the age of 32.
His death was confirmed by Singapore authorities and reported by major international and Bangladeshi news organizations.
His Famous Words
One of Hadi's most remembered statements was:
"If I die, or if someone kills me, please make sure those responsible are brought to justice. Because if there is no justice after my death, then perhaps no one with my courage will ever be born again."
For many people, these words became a symbol of courage and sacrifice.
