Oswald Omuron
Wetland and Aquatic Ecosystems Researcher, Greenhouse Gas Emissions Analyst, and GIS and Remote Sensing Specialist in Aarhus, Denmark
I am an Environmental Scientist with a strong background in wetland and aquatic ecosystem research. I hold a Master’s degree in Environmental Science, specializing in Limnology and Wetland Management from IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Makerere University.
My work focuses on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from aquatic ecosystems, land use and land cover mapping, and wetland ecology. I have conducted field research on GHG emissions from livestock water pans in Kenya and am currently involved in wetland consultancy and research projects in Uganda, particularly in the Rufuha and Lubigi wetlands.
I have hands-on experience with field sampling, laboratory analysis, and GHG concentration measurements using instruments like the LI-COR gas analyzer. I am also skilled in GIS and remote sensing for environmental monitoring and land cover classification.
I am passionate about using science to support sustainable ecosystem management and climate change mitigation, and I am always eager to collaborate on projects that drive evidence-based environmental solutions.
