Joshua Otei is a passionate and dedicated young change-maker, committed to the holistic development of young people, particularly in rural communities. An inspirational speaker, policy and gender advocate, Joshua has made significant contributions to empowering youth and fostering positive change through various initiatives.
As the founder of the Hope Assured Foundation, Joshua spearheads innovative strategies to address crises faced by adolescents and young people in rural areas. The organization focuses on providing essential education, including sexuality and reproductive health education, leadership skills, personal development, self-awareness, and entrepreneurial training.
Joshua's impact extends beyond his foundation, as he serves as a World Literacy Foundation Ambassador, a Youth Ambassador to Africa Formula for Development, and a UNICEF Adolescent Kit for Expression and Innovation facilitator. These roles allow him to collaborate with international organizations to advocate for and uplift young people across different communities.
Recognized for his exceptional contributions, Joshua has been named the OD 30 under 30 Global Change Maker twice by Opportunity Desk, a testament to his influential work and dedication to youth development. Most notably, he was honored with the Young Trailblazer Award for Adolescent and Young People Development by UNICEF Nigeria, solidifying his reputation as a trailblazer in the field.
In addition to his advocacy and ambassadorial roles, Joshua serves as a Peer Educator for the Spotlight Initiative Ripple Program. Through this position, he actively contributes to raising awareness about crucial issues affecting youth, especially with regard to gender-based violence and reproductive rights.
Joshua Otei holds a crucial leadership position as the Co-Chair for the Cross River State Adolescent and Young Persons Technical Working Group on Adolescents' Health and Development. In this capacity, he leads engagements with stakeholders and partners in the adolescent and young people's space, providing valuable insights and recommendations for improved and youth-friendly service delivery.
