My name is Ousmane Gueye (pronounced Uzman Gaye), and I was born and raised in Senegal, West Africa. I’ve always been passionate about technology and engineering; I received my Baccalaureate of Science in Senegal prior to moving to the US. A few years ago I went to a small private school to study Web Design. I then signed up for classes at Cabrillo where I got my associate in Engineering Technology. However I found myself more passionate about web technologies than architectural drafting. I also have been fortunate enough to have worked as a Web Designer for a few companies, but I didn’t want to limit myself to simple web page creation. I took a few Digital Media and Programming courses and decided to transfer. I came across the Information Technology and Communication Design program at the school of Information and Technology (California State University Monterey Bay) and found it most suited for my intended career. My goal was to major in Communication Design with an emphasis in Web Design, and minor in Computer Science. In my senior year, I worked on a major Capstone project and receive an award of excellence from the school of Information and Technology (California State University Monterey Bay).
With a few years of experience working as a Web Designer, a Bachelor of Science in IT and Communication Design, an Associate of Science in Engineering Technology, a few certificates in Web Design and Programming, I’m expanding my skills in the mobile app development and Cloud Computing. I also try to follow the latest design trends and technology innovations. While a student at Cal State Monterey Bay, I gained knowledge in digital art and design, web and graphic design, web programming, programming, game design, animation, computer architecture and more.
I’m also a DJ/singer and love music, traveling, languages, and cultures.
