Oversee.net

In 2002, Oversee.net introduced the DomainSponsor "domain parking" service, which uses behavioral testing and semantic algorithms to determine the optimal arrangement of advertising, layout and other design elements on the undeveloped domain with the purpose of generating keywords and text advertising consistent with the user's goals when typing in the domain name. Oversee.net derives the ads from Yahoo, Google, and other ad providers; when a direct navigation user clicks on an ad, the domain owner earns revenue. In addition to dealing with the owners of more than 6 million undeveloped domains, Oversee.net owns more than 600,000 undeveloped domain names itself.

The problem that Oversee.net recognized and solved was that when Internet users enter a domain name directly, rather than simply relying on a search engine, they usually have a specific intent. If they land on a blank page, that intent is thwarted; Oversee.net was established to help users find websites that would meet their needs. Once the DomainSponsor operation was up and running, Oversee.net began exploring other areas of electronic commerce to match motivated consumers with the providers of the goods and services they needed. Oversee.net's next big step came in 2005 with the introduction of Low.com, a lead generator for consumer mortgages, insurance, and car loans.

In 2007, Oversee.net acquired LowFares.com, a travel price comparison website, and quickly upgraded the website's design and content. With these changes, and with an increased emphasis on SEM and email marketing, Oversee has significantly grown the LowFares.com business. At LowFares.com, consumers enter information about their travel plans and are immediately presented with quotes from competing online travel agencies and airlines. Oversee.net's Vertical Markets Division offers a variety of websites designed to help consumers comparison shop for goods and services. For example, at AirportParking.com consumers can find off-site airport parking deals. At CreditCards.org, consumers can find credit card offers regardless of whether they have good or bad credit. And at ShopWiki.com and CouponFinder.com, consumers can find the best prices and deals on the specific products they are seeking.
