Owain Gethin Davies

Owain Gethin Davies is originally from the Llandudno area but now lives in Tregarth near Bangor. He was educated at Ysgol Y Creuddyn before going to Bangor University to study a BMus degree in music. Following graduation he went on to complete the secondary teaching course and received his first teaching post at Ysgol Syr Hugh Owen, Caernarfon.
Since 2005 he is Head of the Music Department at his old school, Ysgol Y Creuddyn. Under his leadership the school has won on several occasions in the Urdd Eisteddfod with various school choirs and action songs.

For a period of two years (2008 - 2010) Owain Gethin went on secondment with NGfL Cymru as a Music Field Development Officer, where he developed resources from the Foundation Phase up to Level A for the site. This led to his work with CânSing, Owain Gethin had been part of the team since the beginning. His duties included - running the Web site, authoring resources for the site including arranging and selected songs, writing the CânSing Toolkit and authoring all the CânSing Song Support Sheets.

Owain Gethin has also authored several music resource including units for BBC Bitesize, GCSE Appraising, Creative Composition and Theory of Music and Sound.
