Ever since I was a young boy, I have always had a passion for sports. Whether it was watching football games on television with my dad or shooting hoops in the driveway with my friends, I have always been drawn towards athletics. In elementary school, I begged my parents to let me play football because most of my friends had joined a team. Unfortunately, my dad had a rule that I was not allowed to play football until I had reached third grade; this was the same rule my grandpa had for him when he was younger. I remember feeling upset, angry, and left out when I was told I could not play. Third grade could not come fast enough. Finally, the time came and my parents signed me up for a youth league. From the first time I put my pads on, I fell in love with the game. Football was a way for me to make friends, stay active, and have fun. It has been a huge part of my life ever since and has consumed much of my time, energy, and thoughts. Once I entered high school, I really began to excel at the sport. I made varsity as a freshman, and I played all four years. I was voted team captain my senior year, and I signed my letter of intent to continue playing for the University of Georgia. I am a freshman on the football team this year and I plan to have a great four years playing for the Dawgs in hopes that one day I make it to the NFL.
