In a tree.
First things first. I am 26, hilarious and awesome, and broke. I’m partly broke because I work at a Corporation, (henceforth referred to as “Corporate,”) for I-won’t-say-how-much-but-it-ain’t-that-much, and I’m partly broke because I don’t know how to balance a checkbook. Seriously. Who uses the checkbook register anymore?? (Oh, everyone? Why didn’t anyone tell me?) Oh, and because I like stuff. Lots of stuff that I probably (definitely) don’t need. I just can’t clear my bank account fast enough when I get that direct deposit from The Corporation. Clothes from Target and Starbucks coffee and Starbucks reusable coffee mugs (you’re welcome, Earth) and Essie nail polish and eating lunch at Chipotle and a light up Christmas tree to put on my desk at work and paying for a gym membership that I.never.use… well, lots of stuff, like I said.
So the point is this… I try to do stuff on the cheap, but still do it right. What I mean is, I like to eat healthy but don’t like to spend a million dollars on groceries every week at Whole Foods. When I shop at Nordstrom, I’m usually in the junior’s section or at Nordstrom Rack (I’m only 26, I’m not ready for the women’s department!). I can’t WAIT for the IKEA to come to my hometown (2014!) so I can decorate with Sweden’s Finest (and Most Difficult to Assemble). But I’m still learning how to pull this all off, how to balance having and doing cool stuff with having money in my bank account. Won’t you join me on my journey?
