“Fashion is my passion” is a cute little phrase with a ring to it. However, to me, the saying goes deeper. Hanna Montana and Barbie basically raised me, and I remember feeling so silly for liking girly like clothes and a slight obsession with being a global pop star. Looking back, anyone can say that I was just being a little girl who was just into little girl things, but knowing who I am now, I always knew who I was going to be, even as a child. Both characters, Hannah and Barbie, exuded confidence and self-authenticity through fashion, and that's what attracted me to them. Fashion is not just a passion for me, it's a lifestyle. Fashion has saved me in inexplainable ways, because it wasn't until I started to focus on self-expression through my personal style that I started to feel confident in myself. As I grew more into myself through fashion, my friendships and relationships also flourished because of my new found confidence. Many things about me change as I grow older. However, the core of who I am stays the same, a fashionista at heart. To the outside, it seems as though I only care about the superficial aspect of fashion, but fashion is part of who I am now. I can say so much about myself through my outfits, and also the actual value of clothing is important. Clothing holds memories, nostalgia, and most importantly love. I appreciate all of the clothing pieces I've acquired over the years and those that have been passed down to me from my loved ones. My love for fashion runs very deep in my blood, and one day I hope to share my love for fashion with my future daughter and pass down some of my favorite and most loved clothing pieces. Fashion is not only my passion, but it's THE passion.
