OXIDE CLAY ART runs pottery and ceramics classes with award winning artist potter and teacher, Joe Ottaway. Joe provides exceptional quality teaching with over 30 years’ experience as a TAFE Ceramics Teacher and Ceramic Artist in Brisbane.

Courses are suitable for beginners or students with previous experience in clay work. A formal progressive course structure is provided for beginners whilst experienced students may work on individual learning programs which will assist them in developing a personal direction. There is a strong focus on teaching skills and techniques through a structured,supportive learning environment. Classes are suitable for beginners to advanced students.Classes run for 3 hours and numbers are limited to 10 students.

Courses run for 5 weeks and small class numbers ensure plenty of individual tuition which enables fast development of skills on the wheel. Most beginning students are able to make work on the wheel during the first class session and are able to produce several glazed and finished pieces by the end of the course.
