I am the Founder of Hakuna Matata Language Centre in Basel, Switzerland. I come from a small village called Busia in Kenya. Its situated right at the border of Kenya and Uganda. What makes it a unique town is, there are more bicycles than the number of people in the town. Bicycles, which are called Boda Boda are our main mode of transport although the Chinese introduced Tuktuk recently and things are changing slowly. This encouraged me to use the whole of my first salary to purchase a speed bike way back in early nineties.

I live in Basel, Switzerland where I have spent a few years. I came to Switzerland a few years ago, and opened a school where I teach Kiswahili and English. I am proud to be able to teach my beautiful language here in Europe. I do give lessons on Skype as well which enables me to not only reach people in Basel but also all over the world.

I am a passionate Mountain climber. I adore staying in the Nature. I have been up Mt. Kilimanjaro 3 times, Mt Kenya many times and here in Switzerland I have climbed several mountains.

I have been lucky to discover other Mountains for example I went up the steep stairs of the Table Mountain in Cape Town and those of Ayers rock in Australia when it was still allowed to climb it. I have climbed many Mountains in Switzerland like the Saentis, Pilatus, Rigi, Mt. Blanc among others.

I love travelling so much and I count myself blessed to have been able to visit so many countries so far. Living in Europe makes things easier for me.

Basel is quite a fascinating city especially the fact that I am able to swim in the Rhine River or also in Bern in the super cold Aare river. We have been lucky this summer to have such a wonderful hot weather for weeks.

Summer is soon ending and I guess we are all set for spring now.
