Townsville, North Queensland, Australia

I spent 40 years wandering the world. Born in north Sumatra and raised in Jakarta, I have always been fond of and felt at home in South East Asia. I lived and worked in Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia etc but also did a stint in Fiji, Lebanon as well as The Netherlands and Belgium.

I travelled endlessly and can safely say I have been "everywhere". And yet there are plenty of places I would yet like to go. Antarctica isn't one of them.

I am an Australian and also have New Zealand nationality/citizenship. I am immensely proud of both of them. I lived and worked all over Australia, such as Darwin, Perth, Brisbane, Townsville, Cairns, Geelong, while in New Zealand I did stints in Auckland, Wellington, Napier and Whangarei. I am a particular fan of Auckland, I think it is one of the greatest places on the face of the earth!

I am a cynic and a sceptic. There's a difference. I also have questions, all the time. I don't believe although maybe I'd find the concept of a God more palatable without religion.

I travelled all my life, almost since birth! I don't like being in one place for any length of time. Yet I have found the endless wanderings have not been without cost.

When you travel a lot, you are alone a lot
