Genealogy has given my life richness and depth by answering questions I’d long pondered about who I was and where I came from. My interests, talents, quirks and characteristics… I have found so much of my ancestors still reside within me. There is so much to be discovered from the legacy they’ve left behind. From their stories of overcoming hardships and distress, I know that if they persevered, I can too. When I’m stuck with writer’s block, I find my uncle’s poems from the early 1900’s a source of inspiration. I want to give my clients this same meaningful, joyful experience that I’ve had discovering my own family’s roots.
My love for genealogy and history set me on the path to becoming a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution where I serve as my chapter’s public relations contact & VIS chairman, providing social media support. I was a volunteer researcher for the Fishkill Supply Depot, a Revolutionary War historic site, where we re-examined the thousands of muster rolls to identify the unknown soldiers potentially buried there on the grounds. I have also participated in several indexing projects for Family Search.org.
I hold a certificate in genealogical research through Boston University and will apply for my certification from the BCG following participation in the current ProGen Study Group. In the fall, I will return to college to finish my history degree. I currently hold a social & visual media degree from Empire State College.
I offer my genealogical services for hire and have worked with Genealogists.com, Ancestor Cloud and the New England Historical and Genealogical Society.
So whether you want to trace your family tree, leave a written personal history for your family, find your birth parents or need professional genealogical services such as locating missing heirs through due diligence search, I will put my years of knowledge and experience to work for you.
“I find the family the most mysterious and fascinating institution in the world.” – Amos Oz
