Pablo Llambías
Teacher, Musician, and drummer in Peru
Pablo Llambías is a Chilean musician whose artistic journey has taken him across the globe in pursuit of musical depth and cultural understanding. Beginning his training at a young age in Western classical music, he went on to study composition and arranging at the Modern School of Music in Santiago, Chile, in 1998.
His path took a pivotal turn in 1997 when he encountered the rich rhythmic world of North Indian classical percussion. He began his studies in Tabla under Shri Sanjay Bhadoriya, laying the foundation for what would become a lifelong dedication. In 1999, Pablo was awarded the prestigious ICCR Scholarship (Indian Council for Cultural Relations), granted by the Government of India, to further his studies in Indian classical music.
From 1999 to 2004, he trained at Lalit Kala Kendra (Center for Performing Arts) at Pune University, where he immersed himself in rigorous study under Pandit Ramdas Palsule and the legendary tabla maestro Pandit Suresh Talwalkar. In 2004, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Indian Classical Music from Pune University.
Pablo has since collaborated with renowned musicians including Pandit G.S. Sachdev, Shri Sanjay Bhadoriya, and a range of artists from both Indian and Western traditions. His commitment to the transmission of Indian classical music has led him to perform widely and to teach extensively.
He has offered private instruction, conducted workshops at cultural institutions, and taught in the Ethnomusicology Department at Lewis & Clark College in Oregon, where he shared his expertise in Indian rhythm and aesthetics with students from diverse musical backgrounds.
