PA Castrovinci
Hello,
I am currently an IRTA fellow at the NIH with an interest in infectious diseases and vaccine development. I graduated from Johns Hopkins University and have a Masters in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology. I've created this site to highlight my skills and research as a compendium to a resume. My background before I went to graduate school is in public health with experience in electronic medical records and epidemiology. After graduate school, I worked in an HIV vaccine lab under Jonah Sacha (now at Oregon) , and now am an IRTA fellow at the National Institutes of Health in Jesus Valenzuela's Lab working on Visceral Leishmaniasis pathology and vaccines. My lab skills are primarily built around the ability to detect and measure T cell responses in the R. Macaque immune system. At the NIH, I work with smaller rodent models and am expanding my molecular techniques.
I am looking into doctorate degrees and hope to continue along the microbiology and immunology route with emphasis on emerging pathogens, neglected tropical diseases, and bioterrorism.
Yours Sincerely,
PhC
