Richard S. Pace

Born in Rota, Spain November 14, 1989, My life has taken me all over the globe and introduced me to many different lifestyles and cultures.

I lived most of my childhood in Southeast Houston and graduated out of high school in the green hills of East Texas, along with having a family that was international gave me a taste for travel and wanting to experience the world. That prompted me to join the good ole' US Navy (Dad was slightly involved) and attempt to cross the globe, in where I was semi-successful by ending up in the Far East, more specifically Yokosuka, Japan. Lived out there for 4 years, got in a little trouble, learned some things about myself, and got to experience military life and several Asian and Polynesian cultures.

It was due to the military that I got into art as more than just a hobby. Growing up, I always had a fascination with the arts, be it writing or drawing. In high school I had it in my head that I was going to be an author and write great science fiction books. It wasn't until I was essentially out on my own did I come in contact with the first huge art culture that still influences my work heavily - Tattoo culture. I would work on designs for friends of mine, who would then take it to tattoo shops and get the work done on themselves. It wasn't too long until I did the same thing and got to meet the guys putting my work on other people. Ended up making great friends and becoming seriously interested in the art world. From there I got into comics and pop art, and also got into gaming culture(which I am thrilled to say I am still a part of). Street art pulled me in like nothing else did, and my work started to emulate a combination of all these mediums.

After being back state-side, and experiencing the veteran dilemma of coming back to a place that seemed like they didn't want you there, I became depressed and sluggish. Didn't get much done or did well, clueless as to how I was suppose to fix my situation. During this time (and after moving around a bit) I ended up becoming more involved with me fraternity brothers that I hadn't seen since before I joined the military.

Eventually started some projects, got a wild hair with a friend of mine to start a business, and ever since been striving to better myself and my dreams.

And as part of an old poem I wrote:

Two hands, A mirror design - Idle Dreams; A spoken Reality...
