Paige Neirman
Administrative Assistant, Photographer, and Student in Grand Rapids, Michigan
Born and raised in northern Michigan, I love water and I love the people I met up in that somewhat small town, but it didn’t take long for me to go stir crazy. I had driven the same roads for years and it wasn’t until I went to college that I realized the road I had driven for years was the one that would get me out of there. It was also the one that would bring me back.
I moved down to Grand Rapids in 2009 and went to Grand Valley State university. I followed my passion and majored in Creative Writing with a minor in Advertising and Public Relations. I, unlike so many I know, actually graduated in 4 years. I realized as I graduation grew closer and closer to graduation my passion resided outside the realm of words and more in the visual arts. But like so many near college graduates with senioritis, I was just ready to be done. I lied to myself and said I would take a year off before going back. It has now been 5 years.
After graduating in 2013 with an BA in Creative Writing, I – like so many college students – worked as a server for 2.5 years. I now work full time for a German automation company. I am now doing a take 2 with college and returning to try again for another degree. I am going this time for Advertising and Public Relations. I spend most of my free time with my nose against my camera or eyes glued to photoshop. I picked up a camera at a very young age and never put it down. I have taught myself everything I know about photography, photoshop and Lightroom and do shoots when I can.
