Welcome!
My name is Paige Walwyn.
Since 2013, I have been an active member of the food, beverage, and spirits industry, constantly pushing myself and others to reimagine how we look at and experience hospitality.
I started as a hostess my senior year at Rutgers University. I was thrown into a whole new world, which opened my eyes to all of the opportunities this industry offers. Food and Beverage is a unique industry, and it is in many ways a microcosm of the world – including the good and the bad. Hospitality at its core is based on using a series of techniques, educational resources, and high levels of emotional intelligence to curate experiences and to make lasting memories. With that said, there is plenty of room to grow as the industry works to eradicate its previous biases and gatekeeping practices that have kept marginalized groups on the sidelines.
My long-term goal is to use my experiences and education in hospitality in conjunction with my communication and digital media education to make a small dent in the way we view hospitality. I hope to make access to education more accessible and changing practices to make it more inclusive and equitable for all parties involved while having fun and curating long-lasting experiences.
Currently, I work as an Editorial Coordinator for OFFSITE, a creative agency based in Massachusetts that bridges the gap between brands and hospitality professionals. I also work part-time as a Bartender at Clover Club in Brooklyn, NY. I hope to launch a personal blog linking hospitality, race, and popular culture in the future.
